THE ISSUE OF THE SURPLUS SOIL WAS DISCUSSED
On August 9 the representatives of the "Transport Project Implementation Organization" SNCO visited Vanadzor. A meeting took place about surplus soil detection sites under the M6, Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgia border Interstate Road Rehabilitation and Improvement Project.
Among the meeting participants were Deputy Governor Aram Khachatryan, the heads of Akhtala, Tumanyan, Shnogh and other communities, ecologists, contractors, engineers, employees of the Ministries of Territorial Administration and Development, and Emergency Situations.
The representatives of contractors mentioned that it was necessary to solve the problems of construction waste placement and effective use of surplus soil.
Mr. Mikayel Tevosyan, Environmental and Archaeology Specialist of the Transport Project Implementation Organization answered a number of questions. He particularly mentioned that the transported volume was a construction waste that was classified as non-dangerous waste.
It was decided that the contractors and the heads of the communities should try to solve the problem jointly and discuss possible solutions during the next meeting.
