THE NORTH-SOUTH ROAD PROJECT WAS CHANGED FOR PROTECTION OF THE ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES
On August 17, 2018 Mr. Mikayel Tevosyan, the Environmental and Archaeology Specialist of the Transport Project Implementation Organization, Mr. Pavel Avetisyan, the Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Mr. Boris Gasparyan, the researcher of the Institute and the archeologist consultant of the North-South road construction project, the designers visited the Tranche-2: “Agarak” Historical and Cultural Reserve, located near the North-South Road Corridor.
Mr. Mikayel Tevosyan noted that the Construction Project of the North-South highway changed to have a minimal impact on the complex of historical-cultural value in the area.
During the visit the experts observed the markings made in that place and recorded that everything has been done according to the project in coordination with different agencies. It was noted that no monument will be damaged due to road construction.
